Target audience: This conference is intended for pediatric audiologists.

Course Objectives: At the conclusion of the conference, the participant will be better able to:

  • Implement audibility-based hearing aid candidacy protocols in a clinical setting.
  • Develop strategies to support consistent hearing aid use.
  • Incorporate practical and actionable outcome measures to assess development in children who wear hearing aids.
  • Manage complex cases of pediatric amplification, including mild bilateral hearing loss, unilateral hearing loss, and auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder.

Speaker

Dr. Ryan McCreery is the Director of Research and Director of the Audibility, Perception and Cognition Laboratory at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.  As Director of Research, Ryan oversees the 23 laboratories in five research centers that comprise the BTNRH research program.  Ryan’s NIH-sponsored research characterizes the effects of hearing loss and amplification on auditory perceptual development in children.
