The new publication, Clinical Guidance for Treating Pregnant and Parenting Women with Opioid Use Disorder and Their Infants, includes 16 fact sheets, with each fact sheet containing four elements:
Of particular interest for Pediatric Providers is Section II (pages 76-100) including topics of Screening and Assessment, Management of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Breastfeeding Considerations, Infant Discharge Planning, Early Intervention Strategies and Developmental Assessments.
SAMHSA developed the Clinical Guidance to meet an urgent need among health care professionals for reliable, useful, and accurate information when caring for these populations.
