Working Together Across the Border: Exploring the Similarities and Differences between US and Canadian Pediatric Rehab
was presented by Sonia Pagura PhD (candidate), MSc, BScPT, BA on Thursday, June 4, 2015.
Sonia Pagura is the senior director of quality, safety, and performance at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto, Canada and a lecturer at the University of Toronto. She is an accomplished professional and also an active member of The Canadian Network for Child and Youth Rehabilitation (CN-CYR). CN-CYR is a network of partners and members within the Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres, an organization parallel to the International Pediatric Rehabilitation Collaborative (IPRC). Dr. Pagura will discuss the relationship between the organizations, as well as the great strides being made in data collection and use among pediatric providers in Canada.
After attending, each participant will:
- Understand the history and framework for The Canadian Network for Child and Youth Rehabilitation (CN-CYR);
- Understand the CN-CYR and IPRC relationship, and identify ways that we are working together;
- Discuss the importance of data collection in pediatric rehabilitation settings;
- Discuss results from the Paediatric Rehabilitation Reporting System; and
- Recognize areas for practice change as a result of data collection efforts.
