Original Question(s): For those of you with inpatient settings, when an inpatient is admitted to the hospital with hearing needs and they do not have appropriate amplification that allows them to hear and communicate:
I know it may vary based on many factors such as age, degree of loss, current communication ability without amplification, how long patient is expected to be in the hospital.
My primary concern is finding out how you provide temporary amplification to inpatients, who pays for it, and who is responsible for making sure it stays at the hospital at time of discharge?
