The IPRC invites all pediatric rehabilitation providers to join us as we host a group discussion on Treating Persistent Post-Concussive Symptoms. Bring questions, ideas, and experiences to discuss. Providers from all settings are welcome to attend.
Please come prepared to share.
Questions, Policies, Guidelines, Experiences, and Resources are welcomed.
Questions / Topics to Guide Discussion:
-How are these children being identified? How are they finding their way to rehab services? In what setting(s) are you treating them?
-What trends do you see/find within this population?
-What frequency does this present in your practice/clinic?
-Which post-concussive symptoms are most challenging to treat and tend to be the last to resolve?
-Which providers on your team are able to offer the greatest support?
-What is the typical length of an episode of care for this population? How long do you follow them?
-What are the goals of the episode? How you do you document/track progress?
-Do you have any challenges with insurance coverage/approval?
-Do you utilize a protocol or have you developed a specific program for treating this cohort?
-What strategies/suggestions have been most helpful when interfacing with school districts for school success?
-Let’s discuss the philosophy of care for this population.
-What role do/should families/caregivers play in this process?
