Discussion Call: Providing (& Documenting) Patient/Family Education

The IPRC Best Practices Committee invites you to join us as the group discusses ideas, practices, and policies related to providing and documenting patient and family education. Providers from all settings are encouraged to attend.
Please come prepared to share.
Policies, Guidelines, and Resources are welcomed.
Topics to Guide Discussion:
- How does your team document patient and family education?
- Do you have education protocols for certain populations or diagnoses?
- For interdisciplinary teams, how do you assign/divide up the education sections?
- What strategies do you use to streamline this process?
- What teaching methods do you find most successful?
- What tools or resources do you use for families where English is not their native language? Families who have low / no literacy?
- How do you ensure that the education provided is age appropriate?
- How do you determine understanding / that learning has occurred?
Following the discussion, a de-identified summary of the call will be posted and distributed along with any resources shared.
