MossRehab, part of the Einstein Healthcare Network, serves children and adults with physical rehab needs in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Consistently ranking among the nation’s top 10 rehabilitation hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, MossRehab is a leader in care in Pennsylvania. As a global leader for use of research, technology, and robotics, MossRehab proudly incorporates technology into rehabilitation for both adult and pediatric populations.
The organization’s history dates back to 1900 when it began as “The Lucien Moss Home for Incurables of the Hebrew Faith.” Over the years, services and populations served expanded and in 1959, the Moss Rehabilitation Hospital was built. In 1989, outpatient pediatric services were expanded as well.
Moss Rehab offers pediatric speech, occupational and physical therapy services at several outpatient sites in Philadelphia and in the surrounding suburbs. Specialized pediatric therapists treat a variety of patient populations across the pediatric age spectrum.
Among the pediatric specialty services provided are wheelchair and Durable Medical Equipment evaluations, treatment of feeding disorders utilizing the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach, and vestibular certified therapy with experience in treating
vestibular migraines, BPPV and post-concussion issues. Community outreach is also important at Moss Rehab and therapists frequently participate in various programs such as sport prevention programs, bike helmet fittings, “they will surf again,” and community walks – all ways to give back to the community.
“Therapists view membership to the IPRC as a great way to stay connected and up to date with pediatric rehabilitation topics and issues. From the webinars and networking calls to the online resources, [our IPRC membership] helps therapists feel connected to other pediatric providers and enhances their own practice,” shares Kathy Fash, PT, Clinical Manager responsible for oversight of pediatric services for the network.
