Description:

The purpose of this course is to present the value and benefits of Robotic-Assisted Gait Training (RAGT) in the pediatric population for rehabilitation. This course will include information on identifying candidates for RAGT, demonstrate usage and operation of RAGT equipment, and present current supporting evidence for the use of RAGT.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity the learner will be able to:

  • Discuss the different types of robots/exoskeletons currently used in robotic assisted gait training (RAGT).
  • Describe how RAGT affects neuroplasticity and motor learning.
  • Discuss how RAGT can be used in conjunction with traditional PT for various pediatric conditions.
  • Describe the positive patient outcomes linked with RAGT.
  • Identify who and when RAGT is an appropriate/inappropriate intervention.
