The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) is offering a free webinar, “The Cutting Edge of Brain Injury Evaluation in the ED: Using Biomarkers for Objective Assessment of Suspected Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI).” It will provide the latest research into blood-based biomarkers and their potential to predict the absence of intracranial injury. Jeff Bazarian, M.D., M.P.H., Paul Jarvis, M.D., and Jesse M. Pines, M.D. will also provide information on how two proteins, Ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase-L1 (UCH-L1) and Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), have emerged as promising biomarkers that can be used in conjunction with other clinical information to aid in the evaluation of suspected mTBI patients in the Emergency Department (ED). |
