“Fielding Conversations about Loss and Disability: Resources for the Rehabilitation Clinician” was presented by Dr. Nicole Williamson on June 1st, 2017.
Dr. Williamson is a Pediatric Psychologist at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, Florida where she founded the TGH Medical Coping Clinic, a specialized resource for children and young adults who are managing a chronic illness. She provides children with support focused on the medical and psychological challenges of coping with chronic illness. Nicole is also a member of the Patient Experience Board at Tampa General.
Dr. Williamson received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia where also earned a minor in Child and Family Development. She then continued her education at The University North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received her Masters of Arts and PhD in Clinical Psychology. Nicole received practical training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and completed her post doctorate fellowship at Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.
Dr. Williamson is well published in her field and also volunteers her time at The Children’s Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida where she develops and delivers talks for families who are at various stages of the cancer treatment journey. She is an excellent resource for patients, families, and staff alike.
