Kristin Sanders, PT, MPT, PCS earned her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has worked in a variety of pediatric settings throughout her career as a physical therapist. Her experiences in outpatient, both hospital-based and private practice, Early Intervention, pre-schools, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Developmental Follow-up Clinic have fueled her passion to provide excellent care in the optimal setting for each child and their family. In 2007, Kristin became a Pediatric Certified Specialist (PCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association.
Kristin describes herself as a lifelong learner with her ultimate goal to provide evidence-based physical therapy services that are both functional and fun. She integrates many different treatment strategies and techniques into her sessions including elastic therapeutic taping and Total Motion Release. Kristin is also an instructor for Summit Professional Education and has taught nationally on the topic of therapeutic taping. She has extensive experience with equipment and orthotics as well as a variety of pediatric diagnoses and conditions. Kristin enjoys partnering with providers from other disciplines to best meet the needs of each child.
Kristin is an active member of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association Pediatric Special Interest Group and currently serves as the Vice Chair. In addition, Kristin has held the position of Mid-Atlantic Regional Clinical Advisor for Special Olympics FUNfitness since 2010 and she continues to volunteer her time for the Special Olympics.
