The IPRC recognizes the need for, and challenges surrounding, consistent outcome identification and collection methods for children receiving pediatric rehabilitation services across settings. Pediatric Rehab providers are searching for “the” Outcome Measure that will effectively capture change in function for our patients and are coming up short. Lack of consistency across providers limits meaningful use of data.
Under the leadership of Sue Winning, Director of Clinical Quality at Children’s Specialized Hospital, this group will create a structure to consistently collect multidisciplinary core measures by impairment/diagnostic groups to show change over time in patient function and participation across the continuum of care. Improved consistency across providers will create opportunities for research and use of comparative data.
We are looking for highly engaged members to participate in this group for the next 18-24 months. Ideal candidates would have a broad understanding of outcomes collection and the authority to influence practices within their organization.
